Last night, I went to the mall to get a new pair of tennis shoes. The last time I bought tennis shoes was 1999. I am a sandal girl all of the way. I bought a pair of running/walking shoes. (Hey, if you have the equipment, you are more likely to go, right??) It was close to 8 pm when I left the mall. I hadn't had dinner yet since I came straight from work.
The only thing standing between me and my car was.....the food court. Uh Oh! Could I resist? I was really hungry. I took a few tentative steps into the food court and the Sbarro guy stops me. I felt like he was the wicked old hag in Snow White tempting me with the poison apple. "Buy one slice, get one free." he said. Oh boy, was I tempted. I would have been the hero wife bringing home two slices of pizza to her dear husband. Or, I would have stuffed both slices into my mouth in the driveway at my house to hide that I bought anything. Which way do I go? I decided I would rather not have blogged about either incident, (though I did stop and smell the pizza, yummy!) and politely said, "No, thank you." and ran out of the food court to my car before I could double back.
On my way home, I was trying to decide what to do for dinner. I could pretend to be healthy at any of the unhealthy fast-food restaurants on the way home. It was the first day of the road to healthy, so I resisted. I had a bag of lettuce in my fridge, I decided I would have a salad. When I got home, my dear husband was pulling out a nice thin crust, healthy pizza out of the oven. What a great guy.
This morning, I had quinoa for breakfast with a weight loss shake from Costco.
Work brought in Papa Johns pizza for lunch (What is with all the pizza??) So I had the smallest piece I would find to go with my carrots and sweet peppers and a peach. I am feeling healthy today!!
